Hi everyone,

This is what I understood about this week .A WebQuest is an activity that is developed on internet. All the resources that will be used on WebQuest should be taken from internet. This is also called as the methodology to teach on-line.  WebQues is used to teach on-line to students. As everything in this life, WebQuest has advantages and disadvantages. An advantage could be that people who cannot go to a classroom and take classes as most of the people do could have the opportunity to study, people could take classes in the country side and some others; however  the internet won`t never be as good as a teacher (this is what I believe). The biggest problem is that most of the people use the internet to waste time and not for studying. Despite of the bad use of internet, it is getting stronger and stronger that it is necessary for many daily activities. New generations won’t live without a computer; therefore, as future English teachers we should find a way in which we engage our students with internet, but using it in a useful and helpful way.

Hi everyone,

During this week we were discussing about PBL. I think nobody learns as he/she is taught. A teacher should find a way in which students can learn more. I believe that zone of proximal development is also useful when learning. If students learn better by teams, the teacher should do something different in order to help students’ needs. Both teacher and students have to work in the same way. The teacher should not forget that he is the one who organizes and manages the classroom and not the students.

Hello everyone

This week was interesting. The reading that I read was a discussion about how we can implement internet in English classes. However there are always disadvantages. Something that I liked is that trough internet we can access to many files for practicing; we can also guide our students to some good sources for practice or to learn a bit more about any topic. Unfortunately our culture is not trained enough for studying on-line. Most of the times, students waste their times on internet rather than learn a bit more. We as teachers must find a way in which we can involve our students with the assigned work on internet.

Hi everyone

The page that I like the most is ESL Independent Study Lab which I found with this URL http://legacy.lclark.edu/~krauss/toppicks/toppicks.html.

I think this page is suitable for any sort of student. In this web-page we can find many exercises organized according to the abilities and also organized according to the level of English. I also liked that it has a separated section for pronunciation for those students that always are looking for the perfect pronunciation.  This web-page also has a course for teachers.

I think any web-page will work with students (according to the level of English of course), it depends how we implement it at the class and how we involve students with the page.

I believe that this page would be useful for students because it has a lot of activities to choose from and because this web-page is well-organized.

FIND SOMEONE WHO... is the title of the activity I used during this week. I tool this exercise from: ESL-galaxy.com

The activity that I used could be used to students from 3^rd to 4^th level without problem. The part that I liked the most of this activity is that the activity involves speaking, writing and listening. Honestly I recommend the web site where I got my exercises; in the web site we can find a lot of activities and extra material for our students.

I felt that this week was very difficult for me. I read a lot about material for students. About the readings I liked the one that mentions that listening and speaking are as important as listening and writing. What I learned this week is where to get authentic material for students. ESL-galaxy.com is a web-page where anyone can find interactive material for students and also to practice himself or herself.

Hi everyone,

During this week I learned something new that would be very useful for me as future English teacher. During this week I studied delicious a bit deeper. Last week I already learned what delicious is but this week I learned how to use it. Delicious is a web-page where we can store information. I must say that I don’t know how to use it at all at all but I learned the most important uses. Something that is interesting about this page is that we can organize web-pages according to our likes. As future English teacher this tool will be useful. I could share reliable information with my students. I believe that using delicious I could avoid wasting time to my students at the time of looking for information. As a student I can also use delicious. Using delicious I can share information with other friend and also I can save information on it.
